5Twice the memory makes it so much betterMar 17, 2012
By S. McClung "Awesomeness"
Okay so the very first thing I think everyone should know is that they should check after installing this to make sure that their EEE PC actually recognizes the 2GB's. I am not talking about if you installed it correctly or if the unit you have is defective. I installed the memory card and went into windows 7 and right clicked on Computer then left clicked on Properties. To my amazement it still only showed 1GB. I figured out how to reset the CMOS and all was right with the world. You can try this (at your own risk) if your having problems too, by holding down the power button until the netbook shuts off completely if you don't do this you will not see the boot sequence. Pressing F2 on my 1001PX eee PC got me into boot setup. Do not change anything. All you have to do is press the right arrow button until you see exit and press down until you are on save and exit. This will save nothing unless you changed something (which you should not have done) but will reset the cmos allowing the motherboard to recognize that the new 2GB card is installed.

I have yet to play much with this, but I have already noticed a quicker boot up and load up after I type in my password. Memory sits at 46% while doing nothing instead of 96% while doing nothing so that is a plus. Wish this was upgradeable to even more GB but for what it is I will be satisfied. Hope this review helps anyone who doesn't see the 2GB showing up like I didn't.

1Worked Once After Bios Upgrade - Then Quit WorkingOct 17, 2011
By J.R.
Asus Eeec PC 900 black netbook with 512 mb ram.
Bios 1006
Software version EEE pc
Build info 2008-07-23 12:10
Removed original 512 mb ram chip and snapped in this 2GB chip. Turned on netbook. Power and wireless indicator lights came on but no startup.... just a black screen.
Upgraded Bios and tried again. Screen lit up this time and loaded Linus OS. System analysis shows 2 GB Ram. So far so good.

Update: 10/25/2011
Computer won't boot. Gave up and reinstalled original 512mb chip.
Conclusion: This ram chip is incompatible with the asus pc 900.

5it's working!Jul 21, 2010

This ram has been working well for a month in an asus eeepc s101. Had to change settings in the bios for the ram to be utilized, but a solution only takes a few minutes of research on the internet to find, and no longer than a restart to do.
what else can i say , it works.

i had perfect luck with this memory chip in my Asus 901. It takes seconds to change, and was seen in this machine upon starting windows again. 2 gigs allows one to run windows 7 or 8 with no trouble. I tried this, but ended up going back to xp for speed and simplicity. The single core processor in the 901 is just a little slow for these newer operating systems.

The 2 gigs does allow large images to be edited, and many, many windows to be opened. It is the cheapest upgrade that one can do, and has gratifying results.
